Amazing Reach

My blogging colleague Everton Blair recently piosted an intersting story about how his web writing had connected him to people he never had an idea he was connected to electronically.  It caught my eye:

… I’m still regularly stunned by the power of blogging and the reach of the internet. Never in my wildest dreams 3 years ago would I ever have predicted that in a few years, I could write a few words on my PC one cold night in Oct 2005 in London and post it on the web, which would be read by someone in Montreal, Canada who I didn’t send the post to or even knew that I was the author, which would then be randomly discussed over dinner two years later.

Amazing!  (read all of Everton’s the reach of blogging post here:

Even though I am a much smaller fish than Everton I too have been amazed by the connections “built by blog”.  In keeping with the theme here I frequently talk about blogging for bucks, or the business-oriented side of promoting other efforts, on and off line with blogs … but the human side is pretty darn impressive.

If you’re “sitting on the fence” about blogging, get off the fence and onto the horse.  It doesn’t matter of you have a commercial purpose in ind at this moment, or if you decide to commercialize your efforts in the future … or if you never do a single commercial effort …the experience will amaze you too, I GARONTEE! (RIP, Justin)
