Instead of Blogging for a Business, Make a Business From a Blog
I’ve been restricting my writing here to the times when I really have something I think is of interest to you … something which can have a real impact on your desire to empower your retirement as a senior or retiree learning about making money on the Internet. Today is one of these days.
My friend Michael Martine writes an excellent blog called Remarkablogger. Michael offers his services as a consultant to those who want to make money from a bog or to use their blog to build business.
He has started another blog and training program site called: Gateway Blogging. One of his current features is:
Create a Business Out of Your Blog and Make Real Money is the newest post up at Gateway Blogging. Gateway Blogging is an online learning program I am building right now that will teach you how to effectively blog for your business, which will get you more business and increase your profits.
Gateway Blogging will also teach you how to create a business out of your blog if you do not already have one, which means you can earn some serious money because you will have a real business. I got you covered from either side. Nice, huh? …
I love Michael’s approach and echo the points he makes so often. There are a lot of ways to make money from a blog, but the other side of the coin can be every bit as rewarding and profitable. Start bogging on a subject you are interested in, as if money didn’t even matter, and then make a business out of that blog.
You may, of course, continue with the blog after the business gets started, but some can hardly find the time any longer. Several years ago my friend Brendon wrote several posts about a Savile Row tailor (that’s a guy dealing in very expensive (~$4,000 USD), very conservative men’s suits). Only a few thousand people in the world even interested in thinking about buying this product … well the fellow blogged about the fine points of these extremely specialized suits and his trips to the USA to sell more product. "Before Blog" he was lucky to sell enough $,000 suits to pay for his trip expenses. "After Blog" he sold so many he had to restrict marketing efforts with his blog … he just had too many orders to be able to take on any more business.
If you are thinking about a business to supplement your retirement … empower you in your golden years … if you are a senior or retiree (or any other age) who wants to make money on line, I am telling you, in no uncertain terms, that a blog on that subject is your best, first and cheapest route to success. Period.

David, thanks so much for the kind words. I’m glad you find Gateway Blogging worth recommending to your readers. There will be a period where I will accept charter memberships. These charter memberships will be at a reduced price in exchange for being a guinea pig to test things. Charter members will help shape what Gateway Blogging becomes, get a great price break, and be the first group of people to really benefit from what it teaches.
But before the charter memberships become available, there will be an early group of testers who will get a free sneak peek of Gateway Blogging in order to help me refine it. Anyone can sign up to be an alpha tester right now. I haven’t closed it yet. You can sign up here: About Gateway Blogging.
