One of the great things about blogging and the on line life in general is the great people you run across.
One of my favorite guys is Daniel Scocco who has at least two highly useful and successful blogs, Daily Blog Tips and Daily Writing Tips.
Among the many things Daniel doers to help the blogging community is frequent shared writing projects. Daniel picks a subject, writes a blog post on topic and then invites any others who want to participate to write their own post on that subject and get a link from his blog to the individual posts.
This not only boosts traffic but shares a literal wealth of information because if you follow the lists you get a whole brad spectrum of ideas all on a common goal.
Daniel’s current project is very calendar appropriate, blogging goals for 2009.
Here’s mine:
My 2009 Internet Goals
-
Make every domain I own produce some income
-
Triple my GPS-related blog income
-
Provide a domain monitor service (build or buy)
-
Earn at least $500 per month in affiliate sales
-
Produce and sell at least one self-authored info product (eBook or ???)
-
Get at least 500 uniques a day from some combination of blogs
-
Sell off at least two blogs I have no interest in.

Build out two sites with forums to sell or convert to paid membership sites
That should be enough to keep me out of mischief. May hat is off to Daniel … when you look at the numbers he has already attained versus the numbers I am only shooting for you can see just how hard he’s worked. Notice I didn’t say how lucky he has been. I’ve been following much of Daniel’s work for more than two years now and it’s my judgment luck doesn’t enter into the picture much. He works hard and provides value … and that’s the real secret of what ‘on line luck’ is all about.

If I accomplish half I will be happy … OTOH, I have never done one of thise public goal setting things before and I waffled around with a lot of teenie-tiny ones I thought were ’safe’ …and hten said, hey, if I just stick to what I think I can do, I won’t be that far down the road’, … so nothing ventured, nothing gained … except traffic an expereince
