So How’s The New Look?

Big props to Nathan Rice for this great looking new theme, called Elegant Blue. I successfully used the Typo XP Reloaded theme from Everton Blair for some time, but I was getting a little tired of it.  I’m looking forward to learning the ins and outs of this new look.  Be sure to let me know if you like it or if you have any issues with it.

@ ==>> Everton, You certainly haven’t lost me, guy, I just wanted a different look, and I didn’t want to get into all the sniping in your forums about producing another free theme … so perhaps there was something I missed. Just looked at the preview and it’s indeed shaping up nicely … do I understand you are releasing a free version as well as redoing Commected Internet with that?
@==>> Mark, Thanks for stopping by. I haven’t looked at it closely in IE, which is something I should have done… the author mentioned some minor IE bugs that he thought were fixed … another “to do” list item ;-)

I like the new look! It looks great. I’ve bookmarked the theme - I might use it for something myself.

Yes I will be releasing the new theme. The ‘friendly’ people in the forum really shocked me. I was putting in a lot of effort to support a very popular theme for free and it was very time consuming, but yet they seemed to feel I wasn’t doing enough!

The one that got me most was a comment drom a guy whocalled you “money-minded”, obviously as an insult/critique.

Let’s get this straight … a blogger is wanting a revison/.new version of a theme which is essentially dedictaed to making money … subordinating all other aspects of theme design to maximize traffic/revenue … and he wants it, of course, sooner rather than later and wants it for free … but becuase you made an executive decision not to spend time on “yesterday’s news”, you are money-minded? Defies reality. I only responded here rather than aprivate channel so that some of my other readers can see this ;ittle issue in action. Having a forum on many blogs is a “recommended practice” … I’ll even recommend it myself from time to time … but you really have to know about the sort of people you’ll attract to a forum … logic and basic human niceties often go out the window.

Let me know when the new public version is ready, even for beta … I have a site that needs work that I’ll be happy to beta it on.

What issues are there in IE? I thought they had all been resolved before I released the theme for the public, but if there are any bugs left over, I’d be happy to look them over and get them fixed!

Hi Nathan, thanks for dropping by. Sorry for the confusion … I just spent some time in IE with the theme and I notice no issues at all. I was only commenting on something which I had read on your blog where you mentioned some minor things that needed fixing … and the fact that i had been too lazy to test in IE as well as FireFox.

All is well from what i can see and I thanks you for the excellent blogging tool. Any internet Explorer users out there who have any problems with the theme, please give me a shout.
