Derek Beau University — You Can Afford The Tuition Here, Also

15/10/2007 by: RP

I’ve been having fun with these mini-reviews of other bloggers over the past few weeks.  I’ve had Derek Beauchemin’s blog on my “must do” list for some time now.  I’ve been reading Derek for a month or two now and find him a very reliable source of good ideas.  Unlike a lot of “theoreticians”, he writes from experience and with authority.   He’s been doing this gig since 1999 and has used those years to learn a lot, apparently.

As just one example, if you have any interest in blogging or building a revenue generating website if any sort, go read 23 Ways To Differentiate Your Blog & Transform It Into A Full-Fledged Website and be sure to have open and paper handy, or have your Google Notebook open … because I don’t think you can read an article this “meaty” without getting at least a dozen good ideas to build your own web presence.

Derek is a very hands-on, productive person.  He doesn’t just write a lot …. as if that alone was easy … he covers a broader range than do many “money niche” bloggers and he covers things very comprehensively.

It’s one thing to write about the PPC )pay Per Click) advertising world … a very important area of web commerce and one that should be more heavily utilized by bloggers and other non-traditional “web merchants”, he backs up his writing with free utilities, like his very interesting Free PPC Campaign Builder – Alternative To $497 SpeedPPC tool.

Many people are probably thinking if a guy can build a tool equal or better to a ~$500 commercial tool, why would he be so crazy as to give it away?  The answer is simple, if you have moved your thoughts from the scarcity model to the abundance model.  The scarcity model postulates that there are only a limited number of resources in the world, every transaction is part of a zero sum equation, and that to make money you need to guard what you have an “vacuum in” as much more as you can while it’s still available.  The abundance model is directly opposite.  Opportunity … and therefore the different “currencies of success”, including actual folding money currency … is available in limitless supply.  Make something of value and get people to use it and opportunities will flow in.

This entire current net profits scenario is more fascinating to me than any soap opera or  ball game going, and I find myself continually drawn to new ‘windows” that enable me to look into the inner workings of the profit engine that drives the ‘Net. www.derekbeau.com is one of my daily “must have a peek” windows and I recommend you make it one of yours as well.
