If you are like a lot of Americans right now, you need to find a way to earn some extra cash to meet your weekly and monthly bills. You may be in a tough spot and have to get out now, or you may just be in need of a little extra before you get into trouble. Either way, these tips will help you in your situation.
But let’s not get all gung hoe yet! We first need to find some extra cash in the current budget. That’s right! You can find extra money by cutting back some of your basic bills now. Look at your cell phone, home telephone and cable bills and see if you can use a lower package that will cost less and free up some monthly cash. This money will be re-invested below.
Once you’ve found a little money in the current income you have, you can look to re-invest it into something that will generate more cash and that is what is next.
Make up some quick fliers for your little cash business. We want to cut grass and trim for our primary cash source. Cutting grass is easy for one, and pretty much everyone needs it. Since you are the little guy in the neighborhood, you can charge less and get more customers. Cutting lawns will bring in some good recurring revenue! So get out and knock on some doors! Keep in mind that you want your few customers to be close together to make your job easier.
In addition, I want you to think about ways to make more money from the few customers you will obtain. One way is to wash their windows. This is a great source of add-on revenue, also known as an “upsell.” Washing windows is not difficult, and can be done several times per year depending upon what the customer wants.
The last part of this cash campaign involves cleaning rain gutters. This is simple work, but much needed as most homeowners will not get on their roof to do this themselves. You can clean gutters in spring and fall for a little extra money in the beginning and end.
You should charge about twenty dollars to mow a regular sized lawn. This will make you some cash, but keep you below the price of the professional landscapers. I would charge around thirty dollars to wash the exterior windows of a ranch home and double that for a two story or more. I’d also charge twenty dollars to clean gutters. Always give a discount to your customers who buy more than just one service from you!
