Press 1 For a Good Idea, Press 2 To Stay On Hold

For years the answer to the perpetual question of ‘How do I decide what to invent (or write about or sell, etc) has been right in front of our faces but most of us are too busy trying to see into the distance to read the signs.

If you want to know a good opportunity to build something people will use or if you want an idea that might even make money just listen to yourself as you go through your next day, your next week.

fonolo web site link As soon as you stub your toe or pinch a finger in a door or smack you head on something that shouldn’t be in your way you have a potential idea for a ‘fix action’.

But when you have an experience that leaves you physically drained, mentally exhausted and sometimes poorer than when you started on a task … then, partner, then you just came across a business idea that counts,

The founders and developers of fonolo woke up one morning and, apparently unlike you and me, discovered that not only were they frustrated by telephone voice response trees, but they were not getting business done … sometimes even losing out on business because they were frustrated and had their day wasted with those often useless modern-day business dis-ablers.

Instead of bitching about the situation, though, they did something.  It’s still in beta test, too early to say how much time it will save, how well it will work with the literal plethora of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems out there .. some are slick but many are designed by absolute idiots … apparently the guys who flunk out of software developer school get instant jobs with some IVR companies … but the point is they followed through on a simple premise.

Anything, and I mean virtually anything which makes your day go less smoothly, or anything you want to buy but can’t find is a very likely candidate to make a solution and a profit with.  Next time you catch yours4lf getting mad at something, pull out your pad an pencil and make a note.
